Celebrating Togetherness

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

The luxury resort in Providenciales is where we finally decided to go for our vacations and enjoy a comfortable stay. We wanted to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary and hence we decided to go to the Turks and Caicos.

The wide array of options available as accommodation in the Turks and Caicos varied from all-inclusive hotels to private beachfront villas and from luxury resorts from to small bed and breakfast inns run by families. We fell for the Grace Bay Club. It is a luxury resort with beautiful villas, penthouses, and suites that offer breathtaking views of the ocean. The private patio in our suite was where we always had breakfast every morning, while enjoying the cool breeze.

The days spent there were truly amazing. We spent most of our days lounging by the pool. I remember being too lazy to get up and go to the suite and later dozing off on the loungers under a shady tree after lunch. The exclusive anniversary dinner that just the two of us enjoyed on the beach while listening to the sound of the gentle waves with the tiki torches flickering in the wind is a sweet memory that I am sure I will cherish for years to come. The fitness center and the tennis courts I guess were of great help to burn off the extra calories after the sumptuous meals I enjoyed at the two open-air restaurants in the luxury resort.

We made many friends there when we stopped to get a drink before or after a swim at the Infiniti bar. The bar is another place I would never forget. The perfect watering hole, Infiniti is a huge bar that stretches from the hotel to the beach. One of the couples we made friends with during our stay informed us about the yoga retreat in Como Shambala Spa on Parrot Cay. I guess our next trip would be to this place.

Because of the Recession Several Skiing Companies Are Cutting down Their Amount of Luxury Catered Ski Chalets

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

In light of the depression snowboarding holiday sales lowered this season.

Notwithstanding strong early on sales coupled with first class snow.

These drops in snowboarders follows 5 seasons of sequential growth in the skiing industry, and the numbers came down from 1.15 million in 2008/9 to 950000 last ski season.

Partly due to skiers giving the season a miss, whilst other holiday makers who would generally have two snowboarding breaks, merely had one.

A fall of 15% was felt by the independent travel sector and a few low priced airlines reducing the amount of airplanes to certain airports.

Tour operators also saw their reservations decreasing by a similar 15% for ski holidays Europe.

All the same, the top six companies share of the market continued at just over a healthy 70% and the French Alps carried on as the most visited destination with around 37% of holidays.

Because of this several ski operators lowered the number of chalets they operate this coming winter.

Catered ski chalets will see a reduction in skiers as a luxury catered chalet costs more with regards to chalet hosts and rent if it is empty.

It remains unlikely that we will witness the special offers that were around this year.

Prices are in all likelihood to go up, costs are unlikely to go up substantially.

The 2009/10 winter without doubt presents grave problems for an industry that is impacted by the results of the recession, weakness of the pound against the euro, soaring fuel costs and large fixed running costs for skiing businesses.

Next winter vacationers will be more price aware, which will contribute to a turnabout of the recent years that witnessed a growth in independent travel.

Big skiing operators could foreseeable re gain the customers lost to the independent sector if they are able to use their buying power to achieve lower costs and pass these savings onto consumers as inviting deals.

Bring Your Spouse on a Glorious and Romantic Vacation to Glasgow, Scotland and Check in the Best of Glasgow Hotels

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

I spent part of my honeymoon there, and had to admit it must be one of the most outstanding European honeymoon destinations possible. You don’t have to be on your honeymoon, bringing your mate, or partner on a romantic vacation to Glasgow Scotland , you need look no further than Inverlochy castle.

You don’t want to be staying here if you were searching for a affordable honeymoon destination that’s for sure, but having said that, if you get the chance to stay at Inverlochy Castle, then take it.

If you can afford it, then take the King’s Suite, not only is it very large, but beautifully accomplished, very conforming, but still with modern touches such as plasma television and internet access. The bath is also large, and the towels beautifully soft, and the walk in shower, which is something we both love.

We didn’t go there for the room, but all the other touches from a hotel like this. It is one of the most beautifully restored Scottish castles, and arriving in the rain, an umbrella appeared, our luggage disappeared, and our car was parked. Then walking into chocolates and champagne in our suite was another nice touch

This was pampering, and it continued throughout our stay, from breakfast in our suite, where we looked out over Ben Nevis from one window, and the loch from the other. The food was to die for, and all our meals were quite superb.

You will enjoy the experience and place more if you are fond of a bit of hill walking, picture taking, just basking the scenery, because there isn’t a great deal entertainment around the region, but then we were on our honeymoon!!!

What we liked best was how we were treated by the hotel staff. They were entirely respectful to our privacy.

Not only is Inverlochy Castle one of the very top luxury hotels in Glasgow Scotland, it has to be one of the very best European honeymoon destinations

From Travel Photography to Food Recipes: Travelblogging

Monday, June 15th, 2009

The world is shrinking thanks to airplanes and the internet – and so this is mirrored in the burgeoning number of blogs from backpacker-types all over the planet reporting from the country they are currently residing in.

From stories about novice monks in Thailand to the newest electronics of Tokyo, there seems to be no topic that isn’t written about by these hardy travellers.

Such blogs- often called “travelblogs” – are read by fellow travellers and those who have already been to the country they’re reporting from. Also, such blogs provide an inside view of the country for the people considering traveling in the future, so they serve a purpose as giving them a preview of what to anticipate if they do decide to journey there.

Now it’s common to find these travelblogs, and so it’s often not enough to simply provide some commentary on the nation you are presently residing in. Now there’s a clamour for blogs that pinpoint niches in the country they reside. For example, a travelblog regarding beach photos in Thailand, or perhaps a travelblog about the fishing in China.

The majority pen these blogs for fun, not profit, and a bit of attention, however there are writers who make a living from blogging. Be it money through adverts on their site, or maybe for freelancing for other blogs and being paid to do it as they are travelling. If you’re travelling in countries that have a very low cost of living, this can actually be sufficient to maintain all your expenses – though you should have a some savings and not soley rely on earning money from your blog.

Overall, it’s good to write a blog about what you’re getting up to when travelling – for reminiscing on and remembering what you did, and at the same time giving other people a rare peak at a part of the planet they may know little about.
